This trial aims to investigate the safety and effectiveness of the patient's own fat mesenchymal stem cells in treating periodontal disease. The trial is being conducted by the Osaka University School of Dentistry and expects to enrol 15 subjects. The subjects will have stem cells harvested from their fat using liposuction and these will be transplanted into a selected tooth socket. Participants will be monitored for complications and assessed for increased bone growth and tooth stability. The trial commenced in November 2012 and is currently recruiting subjects.
