Julian Stopler

PhD Student at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute
Recipient of scholarship
After finishing my Masters in Molecular Biosciences and Developmental Biology at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, I started my PhD studies in 2017 at the University of Melbourne working at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. In my PhD project I am studying the causes of congenital heart diseases. By using a combination of bioinformatics tools and in vivo (fish) and in vitro (human embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells) model systems, I am aiming to understand the contribution of gene regulatory networks to heart development and disease.
