Neuroscience Dr. Toby Merson
PhD Student at The Florey Institute
Recipient of scholarship
I received my B.Sc. and MSc in anatomical sciences at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. My master thesis was about improving cardiac function after myocardial infarction using umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells and vascular endothelial growth factor.  Currently, I’m doing my Ph.D. in neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Toby Merson at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health and the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute. We’re trying to understand the role of neural stem/progenitor cells in remyelination process and increasing their contribution to this process.
