Stem Cells Australia Operations Manager, Leanne McDonald, will be leaving us effective 19 April 2013 to take up a new post in the recently established University of Melbourne School of Government.
Leanne joined Stem Cells Australia in 2011 shortly after our establishment, and has done an exceptional job of helping to launch SCA, and in building the administrative systems that are so essential to the smooth operation of our consortium.
Stem Cells Australia's Program Leader Professor Martin Pera said, "We all owe Leanne a great deal of thanks for her considerable efforts during the initiative's formative years. She has worked very hard to get us off on the right track, and we will all miss her".
Leanne's new post, as Research Development Manager, will enable her to utilise her considerable expertise in the public sector to help lead strategic planning efforts for the School of Government.
Ms Barbara Power has recently been appointed and will join Stem Cells Australia on Monday 15 April. Barbara has a scientific background and a wealth of experience in biomedical research. She has worked in a range of research organisations, and has considerable knowledge of the biotechnology sector in Australia.
Martin Pera commented, "I am delighted to have Barbara as part of our team and welcome her to SCA".
