Stem Cells On The Mountain - The ASSCR 4th Annual Conference

The Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research is the peak stem cell society for stem cell researchers and professionals, with 210 members. This conference is the leading event of the Society for 2011 and provides a unique forum that aims to bring together a wide cross-section of the stem cell sciences scientific and affiliated community in Australasia. The Program includes two days of workshops, meetings and scientific presentations. Invited speakers include Professor Evan Snyder (Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, USA), Martin Pera (Stem Cells Australia, Melbourne University), Silviu Itescu (Mesoblast), Marios Stavridis (Dundee University, UK), Dietmar Hutmacher (QUT), Chris Hill (Auckland), Cathy Merry (Manchester Uni, UK), Stan Granthos (Uni of Adelaide), Mark Shackleton (Peter Macallum), George Mellick (Griffith Uni), Bob Elliott (Living Cell Technologies, NZ).
Conference themes include stem cells in cancer, neurodegenerative disease, diabetes, hematopoiesis, stem cell engineering and stem cells as disease models.
